And the Father of The Year Award goes to… Billy Ray Cyrus!!!!
We’ve always looked to Billy Ray Cyrus for up-to-the-minute hairstyle guidance over the decades. Who would think that now he would also be the paragon of parenthood of that so difficult to tame group of progeny: the celebrity teen. One might remember that 2 months ago we were all aghast to hear that one young Miley Cyrus had taken some photos that will not be appearing in this years year book. These photos were taken with famed photographer Anne Liebowitz , who took some, shall we say, artistic license with the likeness of young Miley (suffice it to say I will not be reposting them here).
Some may think that two months after the fact his response is a bit delayed. Not at all! He was merely putting his fine tuned parenting knowledge to carefully crafted words, turning such artistic phrase as to put aside any misgivings about his and Miley’s relationship that will appear to the least sentient as odd or even downright unsettling. Unthinking cavemen. I quote the following from an interview with TODAY’s Meredith Vieira as reported by msnbc : "’I'm sorry if I offended somebody. That’s just a daddy who loves his daughter a whole lot,’ Cyrus told Vieira. ‘Miley and I just got caught up in this adventure of this dream and what we do for a living and, again, we both love acting, we love making music, and we love each other. I’m her dad, she’s my daughter. If a daddy hasn’t hugged his daughter recently, I recommend he does.’" Incoherent rambling? Evidence of a man stringing seemingly unrelated words together as if he didn’t prepare for the interview at all? No, you’re not reading close enough. Go back and let the art wash over you. It takes a few readings, but after a while it makes sense.
Now some parents might wonder where Dad was during this shoot. Well, not only is Billy Ray a fine parent he is also a patriot! According to MTV he was off doing his bit for God and country performing for troops in Washington state and left his young daughter in the loving hands of her publicist during her shoot for Vanity Fair . Of course! Who wouldn’t have? One underestimates the value of the publicist in a child’s upbringing. It appears that this one had things well in hand and probably even gave Billy Ray notes from the "birds and the bees" talk they had.
Finally, Billy Ray leaves his daughter and all of us some words to remember and again, like any good parent, he draws from his own experience. “I had the number-one album on Billboard Top 200 for 17 weeks in a row. And with that positive thing going on, there was also that double-edged thing of a reaction. And I remember Kris Kristofferson stopped me backstage at one of my shows and said, ‘Listen, hoss, always remember: The turkey with the longest necks always going to be the one everyones shootin at.’” Yes!! That is exactly the memory I would have conjured for this particular situation. So relevant! Then Billy Ray took his own little "hoss" aside and gently imprinted this nugget of wisdom on the soul of America, "the more you stomp in poop, the more it stinks." Indeed, sir, indeed.

Thank you, I agree! I appreciate your comments.
You’re right Jennifer, one DOES underestimate the value of a publicist in a child’s upbringing and it’s a damn shame!
On a serious note, this was very funny. I really enjoy the sarcasm.
Well…. the publicist was most certainly doing her job. Very effectivly i might add!
Yup, publicity practically fell from the trees on that blessed day!
With a publicist like that…who needs skeletons in the closet ???
Billy Ray Cyrus certainly doesn’t deserve father of the year, but he is a hell of a lot better of a father than Kevin Federline!
Billy Ray Cyrus, father of the year? That’s hysterical. I have seen Miley Cyrus’ show and on that it looks like she’s the one who wears the big boy pants, can’t imagine it’s much different in real life
I think they blew that whole Miley Cyrus picture thing WAY out of proportion. Miley Cyrus is a good girl (my daughter watches her show) and I think Billy Ray Cyrus has been a pretty good father.
Aww, I think Billy Ray Cyrus is a good father, at least he seems to have good intentions and for the most part Miley Cyrus seems like a wholesome young girl.
I still don’t understand what the big deal was about those stupid pictures.
That was nothing that they turned into something. I feel bad for Miley Cyrus.
Hopefully Billy Ray Cyrus will keep daughter Miley Cyrus from getting pregnant or acting like an ass like most of these other teens.
I think Billy Ray Cyrus is a pretty good dad. Miley Cyrus, so far, has been a really good role model for young girls.
I agree with Lisa. I think Billy Ray has said a few dumb things, but come on he is a hillbilly. I think he’s doing a fine job. A hell of a lot better of a job than a lot of these hollywood parents.

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
