Move Over Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys is On Deck

Having an unprecedented attack of good sense, Amy Winehouse will not be singing the theme song to the latest Bond movie and has decided to sit this one out handing the mike to Alicia Keys instead.

Amy’s producer, Mark Ronson, revealed that the legally and health challenged chanteuse has stopped working on the new theme song for the latest installment in the relentless ongoing Bond film franchise, which began in 1962.
On an aside, here’s a little chunk of trivia for ya. Adjusting for inflation all 22 movies combined have made $11,615,711,960!! (That’s trillions folks and just for the films). The GNP of Trinidad in 2005 was a little over $13.5 billion, but moving on…
Amy Winehouse would have been wonderful and in good company. Some of our most talented musicians through the years contributing to Bond films (and therefore their own careers) include Carly Simon, Louis Armstrong, Paul and Linda McCartney, Madonna, Cheryl Crow, Tom Jones and by far the most impressive of all Sheena Easton! Who wouldn’t want to go down in history along side Sheena?

It’s not as though Amy didn’t want to record the song, but wasn’t feeling up to it (with good reason). Mark Ronson said, “Winehouse is ‘not ready to record any music’ and that it?s going to take ‘some miracle of science’ to finish the two tracks for the upcoming Quantum of Solace.”
He neglected to say it would be a miracle of medical science. This was probably not the best career choice for Amy, but likely the best personal one. I sincerely hope she uses this time to get well so she will be here to sing another day.
Alicia Keys will be taking her place and an excellent choice she is. She is an enormously talented artist and I think she will be perfect for this.
Alicia will be singing “Another Way to Die” written and produced by Jack White, who will also play drums. The film’s soundtrack is due out Oct. 28, while the movie itself, the second James Bond featuring leading man and all around cutie Daniel Craig, will be in theaters Nov. 7.

As for Amy, yes this was an opportunity missed, but perhaps also an opportunity gained? May this be the first in a series of good decisions as long as the Bond franchise itself.
There is no word yet on when we can expect the 24th Bond installment “Die Already!”

Well, Thank you, Tom! We really appreciate that. Thanks for your kind comments!
INFLATION. I cant even say that number.
too bad Winehouse lost that James Bond gig, she has a unique sound, would have done the job admirably
Both Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys are good at what they do.

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
