Katie Lee Joel…. Who???

As reported by USA Today, “Katie Lee Joel, 26, wife of Billy Joel, 59, doesn’t take her name for granted. ‘I faced the challenge of people thinking that I’m getting where I am only because of who I’m married to. I know that my last name might help get me in the door, but I have to back it up,’ she tells September’s Cosmopolitan, out Aug. 12.”
I’m sorry, WHERE is she? HOW did she get there? I’m so confused! Has anyone heard of this person before this very moment??
If I’m on crack, please let me know, but I’m pretty sure the only reason this “story” was ever published was because this person (whomever she may be) is married to Billy Joel. Call me crazy…
What is it with old famous guys marrying cuter, younger and taller Katies?

I’ve never heard of Katie Lee Joel until now and now that I DO know about her, I couldn’t care less, the fact that she is married to Billy Joel also means didly squat to me as I couldn’t care less about him either.
Actually, she was host of Top Chef on Bravo and has written a cookbook called The Comfort Table that has gotten rave reviews. It’s on my birthday list as a matter of fact!
And to tell you the truth, in interviews she seems like one of the sweeter and more genuine people in Hollyweird.
Sorry, I know you guys feed on sacrasm, but it’s true!
Katie Lee WHO??? Never heard of her til now…and she thinks Joel being her last name has nothing to do with where she is now?? PSSSSST….kinda in her own dream world, isn’t she?
Host of a cooking show and has a cookbook…. Oh, well in THAT case. Her “fame” has nothing to do with being married to a legend.
Sorry, Magpie, she still doesn’t make the cut.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go get a toothpick. I have some sarcasm stuck in my teeth…
Grab a toothpick for me too please
I want to see a story about an older woman hooking up with a younger man and the media not selling it as creepy.
OOH OOH!! Me too!!
Kathy Lee Who gives a shit, so she married Billy Joel and got a spot a cooking show.

I actually went to school with Katie, and she is a very nice person and down to earth, I’m glad we actually have some good West Virginia roots going around in Hollywood, they could use some of them.
This is one of the more ridiculous pairings out there. He was ugly when he was young, but he also aging poorly. And she is probably one of the hottest women I have seen (the above picture does not do her justice). They look more like grandfather/daughter than father/daughter (and forget about man and wife). The silliest pictures are the ones with the two of them and his daughter, who is only 4 years younger than Katie.
I can ask what were they thinking, but I know the answer. He was thinking that he was dating a beautiful 21-year-old and marrying a 22 year-old (creepiness be damned). Of course she was thinking that she’ll never have to worry about money or discomfort ever again. She can pursue what for other people would be silly dreams like “writing” cookbooks and being on TV and going to cool parties every few days. If he can deal with the fact that she’s with him for his money and fame and if she can deal with sleeping with a 60-year-old man who looks every bit his age and then some, well, then good for them both.
Well said AM
what can you say…he IS the piano man…

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
