Stephenie Meyer Destroyer of the Peace

I’m reading this in The Wall Street Journal: “In a decision that may cost her millions of dollars, Stephenie Meyer, author of a popular series of vampire romance novels known as ‘The Twilight Saga,’ said on her Web site that she is putting the expected last volume in the series ‘on hold indefinitely.’”
So, Stephenie Meyer decided that Bella and Edward couldn’t just settle down and be a happy family? Well now that was a brilliant decision! Not only is she wasting every ones time worrying about whether or not we get to read the new book, Midnight Sun, she also got everyone pissed off because she had to put the book on hold indefinitely, as if we needed that! She’s losing more and more fans because of this stupid decision, and that’s what it is; stupid! Just write the dang book, let Edward and Bella live without turmoil as quick possible! Write the book or don’t, but let us know soon and don’t keep us on our toes prepared to fall on our face, give us a cushion, please.

What an awesome article!!!! I can’t believe the artful prose! If I didn’t know better I’d swear we were related or something! Your mother would be so proud. *sniff*
That pretty much sums up a bad marketing decision on Stephenie Meyer’s part. S.V.D. shows a good sense of business with this article – as well as some common sense.
Alas, poor fans of the series!
Very well put, and if I was going to start reading the series I would have to reconsider……..not that I was planning to read it, but you never know.
I do agree with S.V.D.. They should live happily ever after. Vampires deserve the right to settle down in a coffin filled cottage over looking a graveyard with a red painted fence and a couple of hounds of hell on the front porch. Not to mention a few little bloodsuckers running around the neighborhood playing with their food……..friends ..yah ..friends that’s what I meant.
It’s the American night stalkers dream come true.
Good Job S.V.D.
Yeah, she needs to make up her mind. She should just really finish what she started. Good article – thanks!
Perhaps she’s doing it on purpose with the intention of releasing it later. Maybe to generate more interest? Looks like the “90210″ series only with vampires!
Wouldnt it be great if writers would listen to their audience? You quite obviously know what you are talking about. Thanks for writing so clearly what I’m sure many of her loyal readers are thinking. I hope she pays attention.
I vote for Bella and Edward to get back together!
Stephenie put the book on hold herself, not the publisher, and it was because someone she’d given a copy to leaked it online. Apparently, it was a copy she was unhappy with, so she put up the most recent edit on her website, basically saying “If you want to read it, read this one. The other one is shit.”
The whole thing is her pitching a bitch-fit and saying “Fine! I’m taking my toys and going home.” It’s a valuable (and expensive) lesson she’s learned though…. If you’re gonna send copies, you better be DAMNED sure who you’re sending them to. Especially with such a popular series.
It’s no where near the end of the world. The book is a retelling of the first book, written from Edward’s POV. The most I can say about it is that it’s an interesting read and her writing has technically improved, but she still expects her readers to take some large leaps. It’s fantasy, so you have to suspend a certain amount of credibility, but that book (the combination of Twilight and Midnight Sun, that is) is nearly too much to bear.
This doesn’t upset me too much since I haven’t even started the first one. Soon though (book club selection for mid-September Jennifer)! It will probably take me years to finish the series since I have so many other things to read! I still haven’t read the 6th and 7th Harry Potter although now I have more time to read the 6th because of those dirty bastards at Warner Bros. moving the movie’s release date! Some kind of bureacracy always has to f*** things up for us readers and movie goers!
By the way, good article S.V.D.!
Whoa! I thought the author was passionate about the success of the new Rowling book and then I read her feelings about the author of the Twilight series. Fired up or what? I love to read comments from book lovers who are so committed to an author or a series. The author clearly loves books and follows what happens in them closely. What a treat! Keep reading. Keep writing with your wonderful passion!

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
