What does it say about the state of your fashion sense when you’re threatened by a Victoria Beckham outfit?
I’d say it’s time to be concerned and perhaps take a long good look in the mirror. Regardless, Mischa Barton seems to have her dander up. The world saw Vickie in this outfit and gasped a collective “ouch,” while her chiropractor clapped their hands in juvenile Christmas-morning-like glee. Mischa Barton, on the other hand, dusted off her huffy and released her inner bitch.
“‘Posh doesn’t strike me as particularly stylish” Barton snipes to the London Sun. “I don’t think she’s a good example of British style at all.’”
Omg! Is that what she was going for? British style? What exactly is British style? Should we really be taking fashion advice from a nation who thinks it’s a good idea to make pie out of the organs used to filter toxins? Had this outfit been made of tweed would it have been any less severe and off putting? All the questions! It boggles the mind. Oh wait! I know. She was missing the big hat, right? I know the English like their big hats.
How about this one! Perfect!
Couple this with the outfit above and THEN would it be a good example of British style? No, because really the outfit isn’t an example of style at all. It’s an example of a woman with too much money, too much time and too much pretension, but should we really be looking to Mischa Barton for fashion advice? That, I think, is the question of the day. However, with the overwhelming expanse of evidence against her I think we’ll have to answer a resounding YES!! Behold the beauty:

Boy, you didn’t even post any of the worst pictures I’ve seen of this chick. Picture a peasant top, miniskirt, Uggs boots and a hairband wrapped not in her hair, but AROUND her forehead. Loverboy, be damned!
Admittedly, this may not be an actual picture in print, but simply a composite of all the fashionably – misguided pictures I’ve seen of her out there.
Personally I like the bottom one where she makes her thighs look ENORMOUS.

I think she is a snob with very POOR taste in fashion.
Fashion is very subjective. I think she looks great! Mischa recently won the VIPer award in Germany, where the prominent fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld said “So many girls want to look like Mischa Barton. She is a fashion role model for an entire generation. I am so happy to be able to present her with the VIPer Award”.
So, if I need an endorsement for Mischa’s fashion sense, I’ll take one from an expert like Lagerfeld!
And by the way, I didn’t read anything in your article that would lead me to believe that people should feel superior to her “intellectually”. She’s a beautiful and intelligent woman!
Victoria B has fashion sense. Mischa is just one huge mess. Victoria takes just one trend and works with it to make a classic outfit quirky and her own. Mischa just wears everything all at once and looks ridiculous. If it comes down to a choice between these two, I know which one the major fashion designers will drop from their invitation list – and it won’t be Mrs Beckham.
I’ll just have to go ahead and agree with you on this. Given the choice between the two I’d rather teeter around on my toes in 5″ heelless shoes as well. However, in this particular outfit I think Victoria Beckham has successfully pulled off the upholstered look. Not something I’d like to go for.

I apologize I meant to say what was Lagerfeld on. Perhaps I am alien because I think in addition to the terrible dye job she sports on her head the outfit she is wearing is hideous. I can’t really say that I have ever seen Mischa Barton in an outfit that didn’t look like it was pulled straight out of a dumpster and refurbished.

Mischa has graced the covers of 236 magazines internationally in the last few years. That doesn’t happen to “ugly” people! Or is the whole world wrong?

If the whole world thinks she dresses well then the whole world is wrong, but that’s not the case. She’s on the cover of magazines because she’s pretty and famous, NOT because she dresses well. Not to mention that these magazines use stylists to dress her… oh, are you also counting all the magazines that make fun of her clothes? We’re not exactly cutting new ground here, you know.
It’s not the magazines that “make fun of her clothes”. It’s blogs like this, where jealous people have a platform to bash celebrities with their harsh comments.
Look, of course people are entitled to their own opinions. But I take exception when I read the words “ugly” and “not intelligent” just because they don’t approve of her sense of style. Give her a break. Mischa is a beautiful and giving person, who donates a lot of time to charities all over the world.
Every time a hater whose argument is falling apart calls a blogger “jealous” an angel gets it’s wings. You disappoint me, Misch-head. I thought I could expect better from you.

I don’t hate Mischa Barton, but I do think she is a ugly, horrible actress, with a foul sense of fashion. In that I think that, what could I possibly be jealous of? We all have different opinions, it’s ok to disagree. Somewhere on the site someone said that I looked like Ron Howard on drugs or something like that so we can’t make everyone happy.
Don’t forget someone called me a “speky 4 eyes.” That was my personal favorite. I look back on it now and then when I’m grumpy to get a smile.

As the founder and admin of the forum you mention, I’ve got to say that, while you seem well aware of the fact it exists, you seem conspicuous by your absence when it comes to posting there. Maybe you and the other bashers here are just jealous of the fact that Mischa is one of the most beautiful women ever, has people like Richard Attenborough calling her one of the best actresses he’s ever worked with, other people in the fashion industry saying that she’s one of the best in that respect, AND has shown she’s a really genuine and caring person through all of her charity work?
OK, Jo, if Mischa Barton is as genuine and caring as you say, then please tell me why she had to slag Victoria Beckham off? I am quite sure that if it was the other way round and VB had made those comments about MB, you would be frothing at the mouth with rage. If anyone’s doing any bashing, it’s because Mischa started the ball rolling. She’s entitled to her opinion, but it’s a poor reflection on her that she seems to use her opinions as a way to stick the boot into other people. Like how she always makes snarky comments about the rest of the young Hollywood crowd. And if she is so respected by the fashion world, I do wonder why she hasn’t got any high-profile endorsements from the big fashion and cosmetics houses. Victoria B is a successful businesswoman in the fashion industry and has already had these kind of contracts, so maybe Mischa’s comments were driven by a touch of the old green-eyed monster?
Of course Mischa Barton does A LOT of charity work, she has A LOT of free time on her hands. She can’t act worth a shit and she’s ugly, what else is left?
Actually I don’t think she’s involved in all that much. She did show off some nip at a children’s charity event, if that counts. Even if she was the next Mother Theresa she still dresses like shit which is the whole point of this. I agree with Lianne. Well, guys….. If you actually took the time to read the news, rather than spending all your time here venting your spleens about people you know nothing about other than what you read on other gossip blogs and in magazines only fit for use as toilet paper, you’d know that Mischa has done a hell of a lot more charity work than any other member of the “young Hollywood” crowd. She’s hosted numerous charity events on a wide number of subjects, she’s heavily involved in several charities aimed at things like water aid, and recently spent several weeks in Africa, where she personally paid for a school’s new irrigation system. And as for your comments about her acting ability, I guess you all think you know more about that than someone who’s been making movies since the 1940s, won numerous awards for them, and is one of the most respected directors around??? And as for her fashion sense, it may surprise some of you, but even Meeshhead and I sometimes look at her and think “Oh dear…..”, but we love her for her individuality and willingness to take risks. Reading all of your posts, I have no doubt about which side of this argument is having the delusions and acting irrationally, and it’s not Meeshead and I. If you want to keep posting like that, I guess you’re in the perfect place here. But, if you want reasoned and fun discussions about not just Mischa, but just about anything else you feel the need to chat about, then why not come over and join the sensible people on my forum??……..

Maybe I need to reiterate this in a dumbed-down manner, one you can understand Jo. Mischa Barton is doing “a hell of a lot more charity work” than other members of the “young Hollywood crowd” because the rest of young Hollywood is WORKING. What exactly was your point as to Mischa’s acting ability? Who is the 40-year-old? If Mischa had such stellar acting skills why isn’t she in tons of movies, oh wait I know, she’s just too busy doing charity work right? I find it amusing Mischa goes dumpster diving at midnight and arrives somewhere the next day in some mess of an outfit she picked out and you want to call it “individuality” okaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
First off your forum is a good laugh to a lot of people – but I admit you are loyal fans, though delusional.
Why don’t I post there, well I actually do but now with another name. I did at one point post as Jemma but it seems your forum deletes comments that may appear negative to you. Why waste my time posting if you are going to delete them. And what I’ve written was never overly negative, just an opinion that wasn’t anti-Mischa.
Any time something comes out you don’t agree with, you don’t include it on your forum. You don’t want anything negative to touch it and you (collectively) rationalize everything. Mischa’s arrest wasn’t related to her drinking or having drugs in her car, no it was her driving. Just because she made a deal to have the charges dropped doesn’t mean she hadn’t been drinking and didn’t have drugs in her car.
And her charity work – most of it are paid appearances for her own publicity. I would be impressed with her if she did something that didn’t involve dressing up and going to a party or getting her photo taken and say a prepared speech. And her trip to Africa, she says she was there for 3 weeks and she only went to one school? Awesome.
The girl’s career is pretty much over. She can’t act to save herself. And her hair band line – the worst publicity she has done was actually wearing them in public. I can’t wait to see her behind the counter at Starbucks.

There are plenty of talented, charitable, hot and kind of smart famous people that get bashed everyday. Why not go defend all those people? I think you may well be confusing my forum with the one Sam (at Mischa-b.com) used to run under the same name as part of his site, as we’ve never deleted a single post in the almost one year my forum has been up and running…. (We all used to post on Sam’s forum, but when he decided last year to close that one and use Fan Forums instead, some of us decided that we didn’t like the format of that forum, so I started mine as an alternative.) Sam and his moderator team DID delete some of the more extreme or off-topic posts on his forum – even some of mine! (I used to post there as “lather30″…) But we don’t, because one of the main principles of my forum is that everyone has the right to express their views – as long as they don’t directly insult other members or break any laws…. And that’s why you’ll see that Jordasche’s recent post there is still there now, because we accept that not everyone likes Mischa or her fashion choices. What we don’t like is when people have a go at her without doing any proper research beforehand and end up getting even the basic facts wrong – such as comments about how she’s “not working”, when she’s actually got a whole load of films ready for release and is about to fly off to India to film another one. By all means say if you don’t like her films or clothes – we have no problem with people voicing their honest opinions about her – but PLEASE remember that she’s a person too, and have the basic decency to show her some common respect, OK?

I never said I didn’t like Mischa Jo. How the hell am I to know that I don’t like Mischa Barton and how do you know that you do like her? Is it not true that neither one of us have ever met her? I know it’s on your wish list, but it isn’t on mine. That doesn’t mean I don’t like her. How do you know that you won’t meet her one day and think she is a terrible person? She’s an actress, don’t act like you know her because of what you’ve seen on t.v.
A degree in Physics doesn’t really make you any better than anyone else here, Jo. Flaunting qualifications to try and make an argument is very weak. I’d happily show Mischa Barton a bit more respect if she did the same to other people herself. But seeing as this topic started because she bashed Victoria Beckham, I think that’a bit rich of you to ask that question. I don’t hate Mischa, I just think she’s mediocre in looks, talent and fashion sense and only looks good when she’s styled up (by professionals) for a fashion shoot. The OC gave her a much higher profile than she would have otherwise had, and it’s not our fault that sensible people soon realized there’s really nothing special or exceptional about Mischa. And I agree with Jordasche’s last comment. You don’t know her. You only know what her publicist wants you to know about her. I Just moved to my SWEET loft apartment overlooking the East River. Instead of going to Ikea or wal mart and beginning to haul and (even worse) begin to put together one of these crazy things, I found my Entertainment Center on MilesGershon.com, these guys emailed me jpegs of my entertainment center in all different angles, (which for me was important, because I needed to know how the inside of the Wall Unit would look like. Anyways: I make the order and (finally) as promised 10 days later, my unit arrives, the guys put it together, and then ask me to sign off on the installation, then they take out the boxes and made sure the area was clean. I thought customer service was dead in the age of the internet. Hats off to these guys. I urge you all to put out a recommendation on folks that actually provide some level of good service these days. I’m happy to write a POSITIVE review for a change!
