Isis King is the first transgender to ever be a contestant on “America’s Next Top Model” and apparently Tyra Banks really found this person to be special. ABC News reports that she announced yesterday that she has arranged for a surgeon to pay for and perform an official transgender operation.

This should be awesome news for King who was born as a male, but with the exception of the vagina lives every day life as a woman. King tells the Tyra Banks Show:

“I try not to think about [being Tran gendered] because … I feel like I really was born in the wrong body, and it’s just the one thing that makes me feel uncomfortable.”

I think this was very kind of both Tyra Banks and the surgeon Dr. Marci Bowers. I also think its great news for King. I’ve always felt so bad for people who are “trans-genders”. They are judged and treated unfairly and hardly anyone takes a second to try and imagine what they must be going through inside.

Kudos to Tyra Banks and the network for going through with this, I know it was an issue.
