Ashley Tisdale, and recent ex Jared Murillo of the boy band V Factory prove just because two people split up doesn’t mean they can’t still be friends.

Jared’s father Alex tells PEOPLE:

“They remain good friends. They are in the same circle, they have the same friends. And you know what? You never know how life turns out. They might hook up again, you just never know. I think it was just the right time to do what they did.”

You all know how I love code talk. What I think he is really saying is that the breakup came at a perfect time as his sons career is really starting to take off and he needs to focus. I guess from a parents point of view I’d probably feel the same way. I’m glad these two are able to handle it this way and set a good example for people their age.
