Actress Lindsay Lohan will be starring in an independent film called The Other Side. The film, which will begin production in October, off the coast of Massachusetts, is about a grad student spending the summer working on a remote island at a scientific institute.

Lohan will be playing the grad student who stumbles upon a cast of characters with a secret to hide, regarding a years-old tragedy that took place on the island.

David Michaels, director of the film, says that Lohan is excited about filming this movie.

Says Michaels, Lindsay’s very aware of people’s perceptions of her. She’s really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that.”

Does anyone else think that Lindsay’s acting ability reminds them of Malcom in the Middle’s Frankie Muniz?

Here’s hoping Lindsay actually follows through on a project. Lindsay could be a good actress if she really puts her mind to it.
