Gwyneth Paltrow In Detox, But Not For Drugs
I admit, when this story first caught my attention I thought Gwyneth had a drug or alcohol problem. I was relieved to find out she’s simply losing weight.
Earlier this year, Gwyneth reportedly went into detox to shed unwanted pounds she packed on over the holidays. Apparently, she didn’t lose enough weight at the time and wanted to lose more. She had this to say about her weight loss:
“I dropped the extra pounds that I had gained during a majorly [sic] fun and delicious ‘relax and enjoy life phase’ about a month ago.”
The detox program also gave Gwyneth more energy than she’d had before and she says:
“This program allowed me to work and exercise regularly, something I cannot do if I am on a liquid-only detox. I followed it to the letter and I can report that it worked wonders.”
Gwyneth sought out advice from a cardiologist who specializes in detoxification and was told this:
“”Make time for ‘detox-enhancing’ habits such as sauna, massage, hot and cold baths and skin brushing. All of these improve circulation and increase perspiration, which help fuel your body’s natural cleansing system.”
Gwyneth was also told to avoid allergens and processed food and to eat organic food.
If eating organic food is what it takes to get more energy, I will happily live with the amount of energy I have. Organic food may be easy on the body, but it’s hell on the wallet.

She is always doing some kind of detox.
Being overweight is THAT serious of a problem. However, in Gwyneth’s case, I don’t think it’s as serious as it is for most people.
Oh, I bet she was pretty fat…not! As Julie stated, organic food–and most healthy, fresh food–is hard on the wallet. That’s why the rich and famous are so thin and regular people are all (mostly) overweight!
Good point Michelle. Normal people can’t afford to look like celebrities.

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
