Birth Of Baby Rough At Moments For Taye Diggs

Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel with son Walker NathanielThough he took classes, read books and did every thing else he could to prepare, Taye Diggs still wasn’t quite ready for the birth of his first baby with wife Idina Menzel. He had the following to say about the situation to Jimmy on Jimmy Kimmel Live:

“It got rough at moments because you have no idea [about] the sounds your wife is going to make. There were moments when I had to excuse myself and just take a deep breath, but at the end of the day I was there and I was a cheerleader and we worked it out.”

When he was not able to be a cheerleader and needed a break a doula was there which took over for him. “She was just there for Idina.” Diggs said. Not only was she there emotionally, but the doula also talked them through the birth.

“She basically told us everything that was going to happen before it was going to happen because regardless of all the books that you read, for me personally, when I’m in the moment, I forgot everything.”

I think when you first see life shoot out of the vagina you’ve been doing unspeakable things to for who knows how long, that’s got to be freaky and gross. I don’t blame him for forgetting what to do or whats supposed to happen. I think the thing that matters is that he was physically there and being supportive as a husband and the father of the child.

Congratulations to the couple on their first baby Walker Nathaniel.
