Leona Lewis Stays Loyal To Boyfriend

Leona LewisPoor Leona Lewis. The singer, who began her career on the British TV show The X Factor, is facing harsh criticism from the media because she had the nerve to stay with her long time boyfriend after she found fame. Apparently the media thinks she should dump her boyfriend and start dating other men. Twenty-four-year old Leona has been with her boyfriend since she was 17 and calls him her best friend. She is really hurt by people saying she should now dump him and move on. She had this to say about the hype surrounding this situation:

“It does make me angry. Because he’s a great person. And it doesn’t matter what you do in life, what your job is, where you come from. This is real life, it isn’t make believe. For people to think that you should leave someone because, all of a sudden, you’re a singer and you have opportunities. I feel very sorry for them.”

I feel bad for this woman. She shouldn’t have to endure criticism for being true to herself and the man she loves. The media needs to back off and butt out of her business!

People are so shallow. What’s wrong with staying with the person you were with before fame and fortune? Look at Jon Bon Jovi…he’s married to his high school sweetheart. Some people know how to stay loyal, even in the face of stardom and wealth. I say kudos to Leona!
