Madonna Makes A Call For Action for Malawi Kids courtesy JustJared.comAccording to Just Jared Madonna who has already pledged $100,000 to match outside donations dollar-for-dollar has taken to the Huffington Post to write a call to action today regarding the lives of Malawian girls who have it worse off because they are females.

The 51-year-old singer and mother of 4 had the following to say about the situation:

“I am making a straightforward request. I’m writing to urge you to join me in saving the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children. And I’m asking you to do it right away. Right now, I am particularly concerned about Malawian girls whose lives are made even more difficult simply because of their gender. The girls of Malawi are bright and resourceful. They are eager to learn and grow. When I look at my girls and see them thriving, it is my greatest wish that the girls in Malawi will have the same chance for happiness.”

I think everyone deserves a chance at happiness and I’m so happy that Madonna is stepping up and lending a hand that she can more than afford to lend. I know other people who are able will join in and I wish them the best of luck making these children’s lives better. Not only did they not ask to be born, but they didn’t ask to be born into a helpless terrible situation. If you can help, why not? Wouldn’t you want someone to do the same for you if you were in such a position?

I pledge to give $20.00 when I get paid. It’s not a lot, but its what I can afford to give. If you’d like to find out more information on this topic and/or contribute please visit here.
