Ad Used Without Permission From Paris Hilton
According to News 24, Paris Hilton was not a bit happy when she found out a New Zealand publicity company was using a new marketing tactic with her in mind. In attempt to get people interested in buying empty available billboard space, the company allegedly put a picture of Paris Hilton marked “VACANT”.
Now while we’re all quite aware her brain does seem to be vacant 99.9% of the time, from what I hear that’s not the problem. Hilton’s manager told the Sunday Star Times that the company didn’t have permission to use the picture they used.
A spokesperson for the company, Adam McGregor, had the following to say in the company’s defense:
“It was just having a bit of fun and was not trying to offend anyone.” They were reportedly even going to use a picture of a New Zealand politician instead, but decided:
“Paris is much prettier and she has a proven ability to laugh at herself.”
Aw, that’s nice, but probably not going to get him off the hook. Hilton’s lawyers are supposed to be contacting the company about the photo, but Mr. McGregor has already said he’ll take it down if need be which will probably be what happens. Case closed.
