Alison Sweeney Is Teaching Her Kids To Give Back To Society
According to Celebrity Baby Blog actress Alison Sweeney, 33, was asked how she maintains such a balanced childhood for her two children, Ben, 4 ½, and Megan who is 10-months-old coupled with being a celebrity. Sweeney had the following to say in response:
“That’s a tough one. I don’t think anyone’s figured it out 100 percent. You just do the best you can. Being aware of the advantages you have and helping your children understand their good fortune is probably half the battle. Also, setting a good example. Making sure you, as parents, are being good role models is key.”
How does Sweeney try and set a good example and be a good role model for her children? The actress hosted a Winter Wonderland-themed charity event for Feeding America at her home recently, and also has plans to spend Thanksgiving volunteering at a food bank.
“I look forward to volunteering at a food bank on Thanksgiving, and I plan to introduce my children to the idea of giving back as soon as they’re ready. It certainly helps me keep my problems in perspective. I want that same clarity for my children.”
Way to go Alison Sweeney. Its our jobs as parents to raise our children to the best of our ability and it sounds like Alison and her husband are doing a great job.
If you’d like to help out this Thanksgiving holiday there are several ways you can do so. Please feel free to visit California Food Banks and/or The Salvation Army.

Wasn’t she on Charles in Charge? Shouldn’t she be paying homage to the skills Scott Baio instilled?
No, you’re thinking of either Nicole Eggert who played Jamie Powell or Josie Davis who played Sarah Powell.
I know Alison Sweeney from Days of Our Lives.
Damn that Charles. He’s always one step ahead. Here he knew 20 years in advance this day would be coming where I would easily confuse Eggert with Sweeney! How does he do it?
Thanks for clearing me up.
LOL, you’re welcome
I think that’s a great thing for a parent to do. Great example Alison!
Nothing wrong with what Alison Sweeney is doing with her kids. Great stuff Jordasche!
Good we should all be teaching our children to be giving and to care for others. Kudos to Alison Sweeney!
Kudos to Alison!

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
