Helen Mirren Admires Her Husband

Helen MirrenHelen Mirren says her husband of 12 years, filmmaker Taylor Hackford, is not the least bit romantic. While this would bother a lot of women Helen says she doesn’t mind.

The actress had the following to say on the matter to WENN:

Taylor isn’t romantic, but what I get on the other side is so much better. Loyalty and truthfulness and, you know, manliness in the proper sense. I’d take those qualities over a romantic evening with a bullshitter any time.”

She continues saying:

“I have the incredible advantage of having a husband who is both loyal and understanding, and in response I give him back loyalty and understanding, too. We couldn’t be married without that. I admire my husband, which is essential. I don’t think you can fall in love with someone just because you admire them. But I don’t think, either, that you can fall in love with someone unless you admire them in the first place. And I admire my husband considerably.”

Every couple works differently. I’m happy for Helen that she is happy.
