O’Neal Family Deeply Saddened By Farrah’s Academy Awards Exclusion
Tatum O’Neal is furious that The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences failed to include Farrah Fawcett in its Oscars memorial segment this past Sunday Showbiz Spy reports.
She made the following statement addressing the matter:
“On behalf of myself, my father, Ryan O’Neal, and my entire family, we are deeply saddened that a truly beautiful and talented actress Farrah Fawcett was not included in the memorial montage during the 82nd Academy Awards. We are bereft with this exclusion of such an international icon who inspired so many for so many reasons. Beautiful, talented Farrah will never be forgotten by her family and amazing fans.”
The Academy reportedly refuses to issue an apology to family and fans but spokesperon, Leslie Unger, did make the following statement to E! News in their defense:
“I would not say that it was an oversight. No matter how carefully and how conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can’t be. In any given year there will always be some people that other people think should have been included and that there’s more justification for one person versus another. It is impossible to include everybody.”
While I agree its impossible to include everyone, I still think Farrah should have been included.

Okay, first of all, I was shocked that Farrah wasn’t included!
Second, Farrah made more motion pictures then Michael Jackson…The Apostle, Extremeties (sp?), Man of the House, Dr. T and the Women, for example.
What a horrible, horrible mistake! Shame on the Academy. They should definitely issue an apology!

I agree Michelle. Thanks for stopping in.
I am still mad about it!
I was so pissed off about it, I even made a video. It was too deep for words.

It is complete BS that Farrah was excluded. It really ticks me off. They defend including Michael Jackson because he’s a household name, but what about Farrah!!! Great post!

Jordasche, on another note, it’s been WAY too long since you stopped by The CC. We have some excellent rants currently posted which need your sarcastic blend of humor. You always have an open door to stop by, rant or Guest Post, as you know. But I hadn’t seen you in a while, and just got back from vacation myself, so I wanted to stop by. Talk to you soon.
well she didnt die of a drugs overdose or her heart ‘suddenly’ stop or have ‘pneumonia’
True Laura! Their excuse was because she was more known as a tv actress. How lame is that? So disrespectful.
I know Craig I’m sorry. I’ll be over today. I hope you had a nice vacation.

Life & Beauty Weekly: Expert Q+A
A: "This sort of kindness is rare, so it’s natural you’d want to reciprocate. But if you have offered to repay (or treat) her and she resists, there’s no need to insist on giving her money.
Also try not to feel bad that she always pays. Coffee isn’t a big expense, and it sounds like she enjoys treating you. She may do it because she appreciates your friendship or support at work. Or perhaps she likes having an excuse to get out of the office and doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra dollars for you. Regardless, just thank her each time she pays. Then, every once in a while, surprise her with a tin of cookies or muffins. Or once a month or so, tell her you are taking her out for lunch. "

Men’s Life Today: Expert Q+A
A: "There’s no easy answer as to why you get them. Ingrown hairs are more noticeable in men with really thick hair -- as ingrown hairs are more prevalent in people with thick hair -- or dark hair with light skin. However, there are a couple of key things you can do to heal them and prevent future outbreaks.
First of all, it helps to understand the evolution of an ingrown hair: After hair removal, as the hair starts growing back, the sharp tip of the hair curls back in on itself and digs into the skin, leading to inflammation and irritation. If you do get one, remember this mantra: Put down the tweezers. Plucking ingrown hairs invariably fails and causes additional irritation. Instead, try applying an over-the-counter cortisone cream to help relieve inflammation, then head to a laser dermatologist for laser hair removal (no, not removal of all your hair -- just the problem ones). Realistically, laser’s the only long-term solution for ingrown hairs.
Electrolysis isn’t practical because of the number and thickness of hairs involved. And as for waxing, well, remember the 40-year-old Virgin? Enough said."
