Miley CyrusAfter proclaiming that she “Can’t be Tamed” in her newest music video and dealing with footage of an after party for “The Last Song” with dirty dancing routines between her and producer Adam Shankman, Miley Cyrus does not appear to be slowing down the surprising headlines.

Today, entertainment blog I’m Not Obsessed has Cyrus quoted expressing her distaste for the very music that her own CDs are categorized as.

“I listen to zero pop music, which is really weird for someone who makes pop music,” she said.

Yeah, no kidding, Miley.

“My 13-year-old self would have beaten up my 17-year-old self because she would be like, ‘You’re a sellout!’ But that’s not what it is. It’s not dance music that’s just about, ‘Ooh, I’m in the club and everyone’s looking at me.’ It means something. I’m not just sitting here trying to sell glitz and glamour…because no one lives that life. A lot of pop songs are super shallow, but this music isn’t.”

She seems to be calling out some of her fellow pop stars like Ke$ha who actually does sing about being in clubs and people looking at her, but to say that she listens to none of the very genre she represents seems odd. However, for Cyrus, it’s not surprising.

What do you think? Should a pop star actually listen to pop music?

The teen queen also recently admitted that her song “Full Circle” is about fellow teen idol (and ex-boyfriend) Nick Jonas.

She told the concert attendees in Portugal: “It’s about two people. They’re always gonna come back together no matter what anyone says, the bad people that try to keep you apart. It’s a personal story…Surprise, surprise, it’s about a Jonas brother,” Cyrus said, adding, “You didn’t hear that.”
