This is a decision Ellen came to on her own for several reasons, one, she felt out of her element, and two, she didn’t feel right hurting people’s feelings, even if what she was saying was the truth.

“A couple months ago, I let Fox and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.”

I love Ellen, but I could sense the fact that she felt uncomfortable in that setting. I’m happy she’s doing what makes her feel right and moving on. The only question now is who will replace Simon and Ellen and is the show going to last? It’s anyone’s guess at this point. Word has it that meaner that mean Simon may be replaced by ultra nice guy, Nigel Lythgoe. No word just yet on who will replace Ellen.

Ellen’s appeal doesn’t come from the outside, it comes from the inside. She’s real and genuine – rare traits in today’s society. She’s not into her image, what you see is what you get with her. Now that’s refreshing in a world obsessed with perfection.

Despite all that Simon recently appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and says the rumors aren’t true – “they get on fine”.

“There’s a lot of stuff being written about it. We get on fine. We don’t see each other before the show, we do the show. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we disagree, but I did take it quite personally when she moved away from me, yes. No, I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”

I can imagine the smirk on his face as he said that. I don’t know what you think, but I envision a behind-the-scene feud. Ellen tells it like it is and so does Simon and I think he might be a little intimidated by that. Who knows.

A lot of people make judgments about her and immediately claim to not like her because of her wild style of dressing and shows, but if those people watched this interview they would see she comes across as a very intelligent and very sweet young lady.

Ellen DeGeneres graces the cover of O: The Oprah Magazine along side Oprah for its December 2009 issue.

In the issue, among other things, Ellen, 51, talks to Oprah about her wife of just over a year, saying they “are perfect for each other.”

“She is so beautiful and so smart and so funny.” says Ellen. “I have that sense of ‘I’m done now.’ I’m settled. I know that part of my life is taken care of. I’ve got love. I’ve got someone who will be with me till the day I die.”

Ellen and Portia are one of my favorite Hollywood couples. I love how they speak of each other with obvious adoration and respect for one another. It’s a sad sick shame there are so many who are against this sort of relationship. What reason or right could anyone possibly have for denying someone that sort of love, admiration and respect from another person because they happen to be of the same sexual orientation?

According to Ecorozzi, the couple has purchased a $10 million horse ranch outside of Los Angeles in Westlake Village, California. The ranch is reportedly 26-acres and features numerous residences including a single story, 10-room Spanish hacienda style main house that measures 6,329 square feet and includes 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.

Wow, sounds like quite a place. Way to go Ellen and Portia. Congratulations! I hope your new purchase brings you both a lot of happiness.

She obviously decided to love her daughter unconditionally because as we speak she is actively involved in PFLAG and is a spokesperson for the “Coming Out Project.” She has also written a book titled “Love, Ellen.”

I would never have imagined that her mother would be ‘shocked’ at the news Ellen was a lesbian. I’m glad that she was able to get over that shock and not only love her daughter anyway, but also help her raise awareness and work towards obtaining equal rights for everyone no matter their sexual orientation. What a wonderful woman, its no wonder Ellen is so humble and kind.

“It’s something we would never take lightly and just say, ‘That would be fun.’ It’s a lot of work and we recognize that. In a way, we want to be selfish because we love our life, but we know how much that adds to it.”

Apparently it doesn’t add to it enough for them to bother with kids. The twosome reportedly prefers being aunts.

“Her brother and his wife just had a baby girl who’s a month old now, and it’s fun to be a part of that,” Ellen said about her wife’s family.

Ellen and Portia are reportedly happy with life the way it is. Their final decision on children is that, “It’s just a huge responsibility, and I don’t know that that’s something we want to take on. We’re very happily married without children.”

Here’s to a happy child-free life for Ellen and Portia.

The comedienne, who hopes to bring the viewer perspective to the foursome had the following to say regarding the situation:

“I’m just a fan like everyone else. The people choose. Ultimately, it comes down to them, not some executive in the music industry. I hope to be that voice.”

Much like a lot of others, Ellen says she was shocked and saddened to hear about Paula Abdul’s departure from the show, but hopes to bring a little Paula to the show. She says:

“I’m really honest, but I think you can be honest in a kind way. That’s one thing Paula did bring to the show, that empathy and compassion, so I hope to do that.”

I’m really happy to hear that Ellen will be the new judge, but apparently not everyone shares my joy.

MJ of MJ’s Big Blog says:

“So, is she going to be a real judge or some kind of joke? She’s a comedian, not a singer or a musician. I’m kinda flummoxed here.”

While Rickey of Rickey.org is also happy about Ellen’s new position on American Idol one of his followers, Talea Gokey, isn’t saying:

“Might as well put in Dakota Fanning, the cast of iCarly, my auntie Joy, and my neighbor’s dog on the panel too. If Ellen, with NO MUSICAL BACKGROUND can be a judge, then all the people I’ve listed can too.”

To be honest I think that’s a dumb, irrelevant comment. Ultimately the American citizens pick who wins and they always have, I have watched every show of every season and voted many times. My voting could have been that one vote that decided the winner and I have NO MUSICAL BACKGROUND and I’m willing to bet neither do a lot of the other millions of Americans who have been casting their votes determining winners for the last 8 years of this shows history.

I’m thrilled Ellen is a new judge. I’m sorry if you’re not, I guess you’ll get over it or you won’t watch the show.
